Marilyn R. McDonald, MD

Marilyn McDonald MD As founding physician of McDonald Ophthalmology and Associates, Dr. Marilyn McDonald has been practicing general ophthalmology in Bethlehem since 1986.  She treats patients with the wide range of ocular health, prescribing glasses if patients need refractive vision correction, and providing medical, laser, or surgical treatment for patients with eye diseases, including diabetes, glaucoma and cataracts.

Dr. McDonald is a active cataract surgeon, choosing to perform her surgeries in the comprehensive setting of St. Luke’s Hospital, where she is past Chief of the Section of Ophthalmology, and Past President of the Medical Staff.

Karen I. Dacey, MD

Dr. Karen Dacey is a board certified ophthalmologist.  She joins McDonald Ophthalmology and Associates after serving 11 years in the United States Air Force.  She is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and offers medical and surgical ophthalmic care.  Dr. Dacey offers diagnostic and therapeutic services for a wide range of ophthalmic conditions including refractive error, dry eyes, cataract, glaucoma, and diabetes.  Dr. Dacey performs LASIK surgery and offers the latest premium lenses available for cataract patients.

Patricia Domyan, C.R.N.P.

Patricia Patricia Domyan is a certified registered nurse practitioner with board certifications in family practice and ophthalmology. She treats acute and chronic ophthalmologic disorders in addition to providing routine eye care. Her particular area of interest is in corneal and external eye disease. She is also certified in fitting soft, gas permeable and specialty contact lenses.

Rich Snyder, ABO, NCLE


Rich Snyder is a certified Dispensing Optician with over 35 years of experience in assisting patients in the selection of eyeglass frames and lenses to fit individual needs. Prior to joining Dr. Marilyn McDonald‘s practice, Rich was associated with George McGinley MD/Optical Effects in Allentown for 28 years.  Rich brings his considerable experience to McDonald Ophthalmology & Associates to provide complete eye care services for our patients.
